About

Club Mission Statement

The Sandstormers ORV club is an organized group of off-road motorcycle riders that seeks to promote the sport of trail riding in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. In addition to ensuring the long-term health of off-road motorcycling, the club also is focused on maintaining existing trail systems, establishing new riding areas, and creating a network of riders to maximize the present day enjoyment of the sport. The members of this club will support the motorcycling community by assisting with cycling events, spearheading efforts concerning land-use, and performing charitable acts that positively portray all off-road motorcyclists.

Club History

UP Sandstormers is a group of off-road riding enthusiasts organized in 1985 to be responsible for maintenance of several State of Michigan ORV trails in the central Upper Peninsula.

We are an American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) sanctioned club and members of the Blue Ribbon Coalition.

Our activities center around the pursuit of responsible off-road recreation, including education, networking, and support of efforts that promote and provide for the continuation of these activities. It is our intention to work closely with entities and organizations to ensure the long term health of off-road recreational activities. Our membership is from all walks of life, who enjoy the various aspects of off-road recreation. We have monthly meetings at the Sands Township Hall, the second Monday of each month. At which our membership continues to refine their efforts to benefit and promote responsible off-road recreation activities.

Sandstormers sponsors an annual AMA sanctioned Enduro event, a Hard Enduro, an annual Kid’s (educational) Fun Enduro event, family activities such as camping trips and picnics, and our members enjoy weekly rides together during the appropriate riding season.
